We offer a variety of fun and entertaining events
WQPT is more than a destination on your television. WQPT works in our community offering educational workshops in area classrooms. We continue to give away thousands of books to low-literate and low-income children. Every year WQPT and our partners provide training for teachers at our Ready to Learn Conference, because your local public television station is there working for you.
When it comes to events, WQPT literally has something for everyone. Every summer WQPT brings a favorite PBS character to town visiting area libraries, the ballpark, and other family friendly locations. Adults enjoy Brew Ha Ha and Champagne on the Rocks. These events provide an opportunity to support their local public television station while having a great time. WQPT has hosted concerts, partnered with numerous organizations like Butterworth Center, the Figge Art Museum, Putnam/IMAX, and countless others, providing exciting opportunities for our viewers to experience all of the best our community has to offer.

Recognized as one of the premiere special events in the Quad Cities. This year Brew Ha Ha will feature entertainment from Corporate Rock and Comedy Sportz along with a new addition... we'll be holding games like Ring Toss.
You'll able to check out dozens of brews, enjoy great cheeses from Cabot Cheese and take in the beautiful day on the shore of the Mississippi River.

WQPT at the Ballpark

WQPT at the Ballpark provides a great way for kids to gain exposure to our quality children's program. Each year a special guest such as SuperWhy, WordGirl, Clifford and other renowned PBS Kids characters come to the Quad Cities to provide fun exposure of the quality television programming we provide.
Along with our staff and WQPT Ambassadors, the PBS Kids character visits regional libraries and other locations before the ballpark event. In 2011 our special PBS Kids character will be The Cat in the Hat!
