A tradition of commitment since 1983
Throughout our history, volunteers and WQPT have enjoyed a rich and rewarding partnership. Our first small group of volunteers summoned up the resources and support to create WQPT in 1983.
Today, our volunteers continue to make a valuable contribution to the station. Volunteers assist our staff in the WQPT offices, helping out at events, community outreach activities, and help with membership campaigns. We simply could not provide you the outstanding programming and services we do without the dedication and support from our volunteers.
Like our founding group of volunteers, WQPT volunteers share a common commitment to the station. To help us bring public television and our Educational Outreach initiatives to the region we serve. They also share a belief that WQPT plays an essential role in the educational and cultural life in our communities here in the Mississippi River valley. Each and every volunteer brings a unique contribution to WQPT.

A few hours of your time is a fun and valuable way to get involved; and equally important is the outstanding impact your time makes for the station. We offer a variety of opportunities:
Assist at WQPT Events
Do you enjoying being with people? Our volunteers seem to always have two primary comments for us when they assist us: 1. "It's Fun" and 2. "You really get to see, first-hand the far-reaching impact WQPT has." Our events include: In January, WQPT's Champagne on the Rocks is a fund-raising gala that has become a tradition in our region. 2014 will mark the 15th Anniversary of our annual Brew Ha Ha event. We also participate in a variety of Educational Outreach events and more. Our concession stand at the John Deere Classic is also a big hit among our volunteers. There's simply something for everyone.
