You are invited to cook LIVE with Lidia Bastianich, award-winning celebrity chef, author, and host of Lidia’s Kitchen in your home kitchen. The virtual culinary journey includes a 30-minute cocktail Q & A moderated by Chef Julia Collin Davison from America’s Test Kitchen.

ABOUT 

Lidia Bastianich

Lidia Giuliana Matticchio Bastianich is an Italian-American celebrity chef, television host, author, and restaurateur. Lidia specializes in Italian and Italian-American cuisine, and has been a regular contributor to public television cooking shows since 1998.

 In 2014, she launched her fifth television series, Lidia's Kitchen. She owns several Italian restaurants in the United States in partnership with her daughter Tanya Bastianich Manuali and her son, Joe Bastianich, including Felidia, Del Posto, and Becco in Manhattan; Lidia's Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh; and Lidia's Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri.

What time does the virtual event start?

The event starts at 5:30PM, but we recommend you join the event early to make sure you can access everything.

When does the virtual cocktail Q&A happen?

The cocktail Q&A kicks off the event at 5:30PM CST

What time should I expect to eat?

Guest will begin cooking at 6:05PM CST. Dinner will be ready around 6:45PM CST.

Where will the virtual event take place?

The event will take place virtually on Zoom, Friday, May 21. Prior to the event, we will send you a ink to join the event with Chef Lidia Bastianich.

How can I share photos from the event?

Use #Tasteoffame2021 to share photos with Taste of Fame! Please include the city in which you are participating and WQPT PBS.

When do ticket sales close?

Ticket sales close on April 23 at 5:00PM CST

How do I ask Lidia a question during the cocktail Q & A?

To ask Lidia a questions during the Q & A session, type your question into the Zoom chat. The event team will relay as many questions as possible to Lidia.

What drink is Lidia preparing?

Lidia is going to create the Fragoncello cocktail, prefect to to welcome springtime!

Do I need to prep any food ahead of time?

We recommend you prep some of the vegetables ahead of time, and pull the butter out of the refrigerator to soften. Lidia will show you how to cut the vegetables, but you may not have enough time to cut everything during the cooking lesson.

Can I make the cocktail that Lidia is making too?

Of course! Check out the cocktail card on our website to download the card and purchase the ingredients ahead of time. The Fragoncello cocktail recipe will be included in your meal kit.

What comes in the Sunbasket meal kit?

The  kit includes Spinach-Artichoke Dip with Traditional Pita for an appetizer, ingredients to create Lidia’s Springtime Asparagus Risotto, and Simple Dark Chocolate Bars for an after dinner snack.

What will Lidia be enjoying with her cocktail?

Lidia will enjoy a traditional Italian antipasto platter prior to the dinner.

Is there a vegetarian option?

Yes, each guest can choose which protein they will like with the Springtime Asparagus Risotto. Select Tofu when you register.

Can I choose more than 1 protein type?

Yes, proteins can be selected in sets of 2: two shrimp and two chicken, two shrimp and two tofu etc.

What if I miss something while Chef Lidia is cooking?

Your Sunbasket ingredient box includes a recipe card, so if you miss a step on the screen, you can catch up with the directions on the card.

How do I cook my entrée if I ordered two different proteins?

Chef Lidia will show you how to prepare all proteins.

When will my food arrive?

Your Sunbasket ingredient meal kit will arrive May 19. If you meal kit does not arrive by May 19, please contact us ASAP and Sunbasket will overnight a second meal kit to arrive May 21.

Where will my food be shipped?

You meal kit will arrive to the shipping address you list at registration.

What do I need that is no provided in the ingredient box?

Oil, salt, and pepper is not in the box—everything else you need is provided. Drinks are not included.

Where is the food coming from?

Sunbasket is our culinary partner. They will ship a box with all the necessary ingredients to your house two days before the event.

How will I join the event?

Prior to the event, you will receive an email containing instructions and the link to join the Zoom webinar. You will receive an email three days prior to the event, and the day of the event.

Can I talk directly to Chef Lidia on Zoom?

The event will take place in a Zoom event style, which means you will not have your video camera enabled. You can see and hear Chef Lidia, but she will not be able to see or hear you. You may type message in the chat box to Chef Lidia. During the Q & A, you can ask Chef Lidia questions by typing in the chat box. She can see all audience questions and answer them live. Chef Lidia will try to answer as many questions as possible.

What is the best way to launch Zoom?

A laptop computer, iPad, or other tablet is the best way to access Zoom. This way you can move the screen around your kitchen as you are cooking. It may be very difficult to watch a live cooking from a cellular phone. Prior to the event, you will receive an emailing containing instructions and the link to join the Zoom webinar.

What should I do if my box does not arrive on May 19?

How do I register for a private Zoom room?

When you purchase tickets, there is an optional labeled “I’m eating with friends.” This is where you may enter the names and emails of the people you’d like to dine with.

How do I enter the private Zoom room?

When you receive the email with the Zoom webinar link, you also receive a link to join a private Zoom meeting with all the people registered to your room.
