Terry Wilson, Director of Marketing & Development for WQPT PBS, has been chosen as the recipient of the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Core Values Award for Social Responsibility. At WIU, this award is defined as honoring an individual who demonstrates a commitment to equity, social justice and diversity while maintaining the highest standards of integrity in their work with others. WIU aims to serve as a resource and catalyst for economic, educational, cultural, environmental and community development within our region and beyond.
"Terry's commitment to the station, the Western Illinois University community, our viewers and the university's core values is exemplary. He's simply one of the best," said WQPT PBS General Manager Dawn Schmitt.
She went on to add, "Terry's cheerful demeanor, vision and leadership for the station are demonstrated in all that we do—not only by his job duties but also by his impact on our entire team and the services we provide to viewers throughout Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois."
