Guests: April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Jim welcomes Brooke Hendrickx of the Child Abuse Council to talk about the Breasia Terrell case and other unreported cases of child abuse. The Illinois 4-H says the racial justice demonstrations of last summer spurred the organization to intensify its commitment to address existing racism and disparities in its own program. Jim talks with Dr. Lisa Diaz who leads the University of Illinois extension’s 4-H program serving nearly 200,000 children and young adults across the state.
